When
the dark dreary skies were spreading their web of gloom and misery on an
unsuspecting world, she came out radiant as an angel, spreading her wings to
wrap that very unsuspecting people in her warmth, letting them know they were
not alone, picking them up, pushing them on, giving them hope, filling in them
the very life that is the essence of their existence. Lithe as a cat but strong
and tenacious like a predator, with the splendor and vigor like the flaming
sun, she made her decent from the underbelly of that omnipresent beast that was
looming at large as far my pleading eyes could see.
Connected
but lost, captivating but liberating, present but invisible, she enticed my
every sense. Caressing and controlling, she held me, touching me
some, whispering some more. One like her, I am yet to see but one less familiar
I have not known. She was the stranger I had known all my life. She was the
color where all else was dark, the flavor where it was bland; she was the very
essence in what was life.
Free
in her imagination, spirited in her ways, gentle in her manners and devoted in
her love, she was the very woman of my dreams. How I longed to run those
infinite miles that separated me from her and how I longed to make her mine.
Oh
that Minnesota drizzle! She's got my attention alright! There's no denying
that.
